Avis de décès : M. Jeannot Real-Gerard Rossignol (1943-03-08 - 2018-06-30)

Jeannot Real-Gerard Rossignol (Papa), 75, of Mt. Gilead was called home to the Lord on June 30, 2018 in CMC Main, Charlotte with his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren by his side.

The family will receive friends from 5 PM until 8 PM on Tuesday July 3, 2018 at Stanly funeral & Cremation Care of Albemarle.

Born March 8, 1943 in Edmundston, New Brunswick, Canada, he was the son of the late Denis and Edna Rossignol. Jeannot (Papa) was a true original. He will be sorely missed for his sense of humor. He was a prankster and he loved to tell jokes. He loved to cook and if you visited his home you did not leave hungry. He was selfless and always put others first. He had a heart of gold and when he was born God broke the mold. Well, not really, because he has an identical twin brother Jean who has an identical personality.

Anyone who met him will tell you he had such a great personality and loved to tell stories. He was the hardest working man you could ever meet and was a great provider for his family. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of his life. He bragged about them all the time and loved to watch their baseball games and other sports. He kept photos of them all over his house and was constantly looking at them and showing them off.

Before he moved to the USA he was a serviceman in the Canadian Air Cadets and if any of you know Jeannot, this may surprise you that he studied 4 years in Seminary to become a Catholic Priest. However, fortunately he was lead in the direction of marriage and family.

Mr. Rossignol is survived by his wife of 51 years, Johanna Rossignol, 4 children Michele Kerry of CT, Rachelle Johnson of Mt Gilead, NC, Robert Rossignol of Mt. Gilead, NC and Jeannot Rossignol Jr. and wife Sara of CT, 12 grandchildren: Andrew LaFlamme, Nathan LaFlamme, Matthew LaFlamme, Zachary Shea and wife Ashley, Jeffrey Shea and wife Stormy, Allen Morrill, Brian Morrill (USMC), Andra Rossignol, Faith Rossignol, Natalie Rossignol, Julia Rossignol, and Joshua Rossignol, 4 great grandchildren: Scarlett, Liam, Madalyn, and Rory, 3 sisters Cecile Gallagher of San Antonio, TX, Claudette Rossignol and Rachel Michaud, both of Canada, his twin brother Jean Rossignol of Canada and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers Reno, Camille and Hermel Rossignol and sister Yolande Grondin and several nieces and nephews.
