William Allan St. Amand, 77, of Olympia, passed away on May 4, 2011.

Bill was born on September 3, 1933 in Clifton, NJ. He grew up in Clifton and Lincoln Park, NJ and has lived in Olympia since 1965. Bill graduated from Boonton High School (New Jersey) in 1952. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from September, 1952 through September, 1955. Bill served with 6th Marine at Camp Le Jeune, NC and 3rd Marine Air Wing, Opolocka, FL, he was also a Marine Reservist for 1 year of active duty.

Bill had a deep appreciation for live theater, reading, and popular, classical and jazz music. He loved life, great food, singing, and his family. Bill was a parishioner at St. Michael Catholic Church in Olympia and in 1991 he retired from the State of Washington, Department of Retirement Systems, after 25 years of service.

Bill is survived by his brother, James St. Amand; nephew, Carter St. Amand; niece, Kim Matthews; nephew, Wade St. Amand; numerous great nieces and nephews, and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Harry Alexander St. Amand; mother, Alice Marie Elizabeth (Delaney) St. Amand; and brother, Harry Charles St. Amand.

The Visitation will be held from 2:00pm to 6:00pm on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at Mills & Mills Funeral Home, 5725 Littlerock Rd SW, Tumwater, WA. The Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00pm on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at St. Michael Catholic Church, 1208 11th Ave SE, Olympia, WA, followed by a reception and concluding with a Committal Service at Mills & Mills Memorial Park.
