Genevieve (Gurka) Tatro St. Amand, 89, the widow of Martin St. Amand, died Friday, (June 1, 2001) at Manchester Memorial Hospital.
Born in Ware, MA, she had lived in Manchester for over sixty years. She at one time worked with the family construction business and later was employed at the Travelers Insurance Co.
Genevieve is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, James O. and Candice Tatro of Manchester and Edward A. and Diane Tatro of Stamford.; three step-sons and their families, Rio, Jerry and Gil St. Amand of New Brunswick, Canada; seven grandchildren, Lance Tatro and his wife, Naween Khan, Linda Buckland and her husband, Mark, Bradley Tatro, James Tatro, Jr., Paul Tatro, Lee Tatro, and Philip Tatro; three great-grandchildren, Michael and Ryan Buckland and Zane Tatro; her brother, Frank Gurka; two sisters, Bernice Calkins and Veronica Gurka, all of Ware, MA; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, 9:30 a.m. from the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 West Center St., Manchester, followed by a Mass of Resurrection at the Church of the Assumption, 10 a.m. with burial in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, 4-8 p.m.
